Steps to Get Licensed

    Complete a state-approved electrician apprenticeship (typically 5 years / 8,000 hours classroom + on-the-job)

    Apply for a C-10 Electrical Contractor license through the CSLB

Important Notes

California requires electricians to hold a state-issued certification card (AB 2350). The C-10 contractor license allows you to bid on and run electrical projects. Union apprenticeships through IBEW locals are widely available.
